In Civil Rights
The first ingredient is taking care of the nuts and bolts – providing the essential facilities and services that enable the city to function efficiently and effectively. These include such things as public safety (police and fire), building permits and inspections, code enforcement, parks and recreation, streets and public buildings. Making things work, on time and on budget is an important objective of mine. As a business owner, I bring a lot of education, experience and skills to bear on shaping public policy that makes things work, and I will, to the best of my ability, insure that the people of Stockton get the best possible return for their investment in City government and that the neighborhood in District 1 is treated fairly and I will protect our programs and services.
I am a small business owner. I realize that small businesses are the economic engine of a vibrant city. I want to streamline the way city government works with small businesses. To often, City government is viewed as an obstacle instead of resource for small business. I want to work on encouraging new businesses to open in Stockton and making city government work for them.
There are two important ingredients to municipal government.
The first ingredient is taking care of the nuts and bolts – providing the essential facilities and services that enable the city to function efficiently and effectively. The second ingredient is what I call quality of life issues.
